New Mexico Wildlife Center (NMWC) is located just north of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and has been in continuous operation since 1986. Our mission statement is: New Mexico Wildlife Center connects people and wildlife for an abundant tomorrow. There are three main facets to NMWC: a Wildlife Hospital, Wildlife Education programs, and our onsite native wildlife exhibits that are open to the public daily. Our annual operating budget has been steadily climbing in recent years as the organization has experienced significant growth. Last year’s budget was approximately $650,000. In 2020, the Wildlife Hospital treated 994 injured and orphaned animals representing more than 130 different species. The Education Team provides wildlife education presentations for schools and other groups that meet national science standards.
