This role, which reports to the partner-head of creative, balances the responsibilities of running projects, leading pitches, and rolling up your sleeves to work out the details. Whatever the brief, you seek to build an authentic connection with audiences, to surprise, inform, and delight. This client-facing role is based in either New York City or San Francisco. The offices are currently closed, and the team is fully remote, but ultimately will return to hybrid and then in-person work when it’s safe to do so. You Will: Define and lead projects from concept to delivery in a wide range of formats: campaigns, editorial, brand systems, video production, motion graphics and animation, social media, experiential, and more Mentor, motivate, and manage a group of creatives with a diverse range of backgrounds and skillsets Foster an inspiring and inclusive work culture and empower all team members to have a voice Develop client relationships built around trust and dialog to enable creative teams to deliver informed work that pushes beyond the expected Shape and deliver presentations that tell a compelling story and effectively articulate the concept as well as convey the strategy or system underlying a proposed design Manage project budgets and resourcing, both those internal to the firm and those of client partners, always seeking to derive value and excellence from finite resourcing Collaborate with the partner-head of creative to determine strategic hiring needs, interview candidates, and train new hires to integrate into a healthy and motivating team dynamic Work closely with the partners and co-CEOs to design business and communications systems for owned, social, and physical platforms You Have: 10+ years of experience working in an advertising, design, or journalism environment Demonstrated understanding of how to establish, market, grow, and evolve brands through design, from startups and nonprofits to large-scale global organizations Experience in a people management role on design teams, with the ability to coordinate, direct, and provide creative direction to contractors, agencies, and in-house multi-disciplinary creatives Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex, sometimes abstract, concepts clearly and persuasively A highly collaborative, organized, and resourceful approach; A self-starter who proactively sets benchmarks, builds trust, and aligns expectations Strong knowledge of design principles and best practices and a a keen eye for typography and technical craft. An understanding of the latest best practices for web design, responsive grid systems, and experience setting up design systems that are appropriate for the web Fluency with the Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and competency working in Keynote and G Suite products; Development process fluency a plus Logistics: Talent can be located in NYC or San Francisco Once work returns to onsite, this will be an onsite role Full-time hours Start date: ASAP
