Strengthened by over 24 years of combined experience in energy generation industries and strong background in project management, sustainability consulting, and construction, Progeneration Energy’s team has everything to deliver best in class service and management to projects on any scale.As a Journeyman Electrician for Progeneration Energy you will be primarily responsible for leading the installation of commercial and utility solar systems. Under the guidance of a senior project manager and using engineered designs with site specific manufacturing diagrams the electrician is responsible for; Outlining to the project manager the materials, equipment, and labor required to complete the electrical work, Leading the project team in the installation of the electrical system, andEnforcing quality of all work standards. Electricians will be required to meet with inspectors and customer’s, taking responsibility for adherence to design and overall project craftsmanship.Electricians pair with the lead solar installer, operators, and 1 or more apprentices and laborers to form a project installation team.  The duties include connecting to an existing AC distribution system to a utility meter, a service disconnect, an AC combiner panel and then into the inverters. The installation of the DC photovoltaic system includes installing positive and negative cables using MC4 connectors from the individual modules to a combiner panel, then into the inverter. Required experience includes conduit installation above and below ground, installation of switchboards, distribution panels, and meter boxes. Experience with CAT4 communication cables, dataloggers, networked controllers desirable. This position’s activities are primarily in Rhode Island but may occasionally be required to travel to other lower New England or Eastern NY states. This role works in all weather conditions, outdoors, climbs ladders, lifts 50 pounds consistently, and squats or kneels for long periods of time. Progeneration offers a Saturday through Friday workweek, reserving Thursday and Friday off to protect for days off due to poor weather. 40-45 hours weekly anticipated with 10-14 hour workdays dependent upon daylight and operational needs.
