Some employees may qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program on their Federal Student Aid Direct Loan balance.Job Description:The School of Business of Norwich University invites applicants for a tenure-track position as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting to commence July 1, 2021.Responsibilities include teaching a variety of undergraduate accounting (principles, intermediate, advanced, cost accounting, taxation, and auditing) courses, as well as coordination of the accounting program and participation in the scholarship activities of the School; the ability to teach other finance and management courses would be a definite plus.Additional responsibilities include program administration, student academic advising, active professional development through scholarship, and university service.Requirements:As a traditionally teaching-centered university, a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential. Class sizes are relatively small, and students come to the University looking for in-person and engaged classroom-based learning.Preference will be given to candidates with an earned doctorate in Accounting, but consideration will also be given to candidates possessing an appropriate master’s degree (MAcc/MSA/MBA) coupled with a professional credential (CPA/CMA/CGMA) and a demonstrated knowledge of the current accounting and auditing (non-public company) standards. Professional and/or industry experience in accounting/auditing is highly desirable.
