MENTAL HEALTH CONSULTANT JOIN OUR TEAM: Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission uplifts families and children in ways that no other organization can. Position Summary: The Mental Health Consultant operates in compliance with any and all policies and procedures as established by NKCAC Head Start and performance standards as established by the Federal Government regarding program operations to promote and provide quality service delivery to the children, families, and communities we serve. Fulfill responsibilities as early childhood development, and health services team member and carry out tasks as outlined in the Component Plan. Hours: This Part-Time position is an hourly non-exempt working 20 hours per week Monday through Friday. Benefit packages offered: We offer competitive pay with Hazard Pay 14 paid holidays (includes 2 floating holidays) Sick leave, personal days, and vacation time Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Life Insurance Retirement savings Responsibilities: Work cooperatively with all components of the program Maintain the confidentiality of staff and clients Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow established child abuse reporting requirements Conduct classroom mental health observations and provide consultation to staff and families Track data in ChildPlus Collaborate with NorthKey, MEBS, school districts, and other mental health providers to establish and provide ongoing support to children, staff, and parents/guardians Assist and model in classrooms in which additional support for mental health intervention is needed Provide training to parents and staff related to mental health, toxic stress, and trauma Obtain Kentucky Trainer’s Credential Obtain Pre-K CLASS Reliability Assist in the development of on-going literacy program Create and implement transition plans for children going to Kindergarten Attend supervision with the Mental Health/Disabilities Coordinator and/or Education Team Provide consultation to staff and parent/guardians when referrals are submitted to the school district Qualifications: Master’s degree with clinical license required. Ability to work with people of diverse and varying socio-economic backgrounds. Experience in positive supports for young children including skills in teaming and consultation, applied behavior analysis, data-based decision making, tiered empirically-based interventions for school, home, and community NKCAC-Head Start cannot employ anyone who has been found by the Cabinet to have abused or neglected a child.
