Instruction is cutting edge and flexible, using a project learning based, dual immersion bilingual curriculum customized for our unique students and programming needs. Growing Adelante is a unique program that uses food and agriculture as the basis for a project based learning curriculum at Escuela Adelante, in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. The Program Director will manage a small staff of agricultural and kitchen workers to plan, implement and maintain a small farm to supply food for student meals, will work with kitchen staff to plan and implement a diverse, international menu, and will work with the Academic Director to integrate agricultural and food based projects into the existing curriculum. The successful applicant will have a love of food and agriculture, and a strong background in some related field. Position Summary: The San Juan del Sur Day School is seeking a qualified and dynamic permaculture teacher, farmer and outdoor educator who combines significant personal interest and knowledge in permaculture, outdoor, agricultural, environmental and/or experiential education to lead the educational programming of the SJDS DS, based at the Finca las Nubes, Nicaragua.  QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree, experience in permaculture design, agricultural education or relevant field is preferred.
